biab practice in all 12 keys
biab practice in all 12 keys
the goal 5 rows of "Dm7 G7 CMaj7" played 4 times (OR 1 row of "Dm7 G7 CMaj7" played 20 times. Then the same for "Gm7 C7 FMaj7", and for "Cm7 F7 BbMaj7", and for "Fm7 Bb7 EbMaj7" . . . "Am7 D7 GMaj7" - all 12 keys. the MAColution
Write it out ONCE and then use the Prefs->Transpose window to set the thing to automatically transpose by your entered number of half steps per chorus repeat. (that would be the number 1)
Set the chorus number to 12 and there you go.
Use an all MIDI style for this one. It is not only faster, the RealTracks will choke on that one.

Free sheetMusic
The Mutopia Project offers sheet music editions of classical music for free download. These are based on editions in the public domain, and include works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Handel, Mozart, and many others. A team of volunteers are involved in typesetting the music by computer using the LilyPond software. Why not join them?! See the page on how to contribute for more information.
We also host a growing number of modern editions, arrangements and new music. The respective editors, arrangers and composers have chosen to make these works freely available

How to find Styles that fit your particular song.
How to find Styles that fit your particular song.
#368 and #522 are finger picking and strumming patches. Right click at the top on GUITAR track from BB, and go to Assign/regenerate RT. When the page comes up, type 368 in the FILTER window at the bottom, and click UPDATE. This will come up if you have it. Listen to it at the top by clicking AUDITION wma. If you don't have it, just put GUITAR in the filter box, and it will pull up only guitars. Then choose a strumming one and a fingerpicking one and see if they sound good enough.

m-audio win-7
I just figured out a bit of a workaround for it. I too have had ASIO woes under Windows7 Beta and i'm really glad to get this figured out.
Boot up your PC, press f8 during bootup and select the "disable driver signing" option. (That isn't exactly what it's called, i can't remember what it was).
Navigate to your temporary files folder with windows explorer. (Often C:\Users\{USER}\AppData\Local\Temp). Delete all the folders named with curly braces. This will make it easy to find which folders have the extracted driver files.
Right click on the installer, go to "properties". Navigate to the "compatibility" tab, tick "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select "Windows Vista" from the dropdown box. Press OK.
Run the windows vista 64bit SP1 driver installer for the Fast Track USB (Without the Fast Track plugged in). Progress through the installation until it gives you the same old "windows can't install this driver" error message.
Now LEAVE the installer where it is, don't exit the installer.
Check out the temp folders and two new folders (with curly brace names) should have been created. Look around in them for a file titled "M-AudioTaskBarIcon64.exe" which should be two folders deep. Right click on it and select "Run as Administrator".
It should then ask you if you want to install the hardware. Click yes.
The M-Audio taskbar icon should show up in the bottom right (if you have set W7 to show all taskbar icons like i have). Double click on it to bring up the ASIO panel. Plug in your Fast Track USB and after a few seconds, the status should show up as "connected".
I have tested ASIO out in FLStudio8 and it works perfectly. I don't know if it works with other DAWs, but i would assume so.

using biab
using biab
*Don't neglect the EAR TRAINER in BIAB. Start with simple interval identification from the same root and play the game. Ten minutes a day or so is all it takes to develop a monster pair of relative pitch identifying ears.
*I use BIAB for PRACTICE. Of all sorts. Drillin' on the changes, drillin' on things like the ii-V-I's in rotation, the auto transpose feature found in the Prefs for practicing a song in all keys in rotation, with BIAB keeping perfect time plus having a backup band of at least bass, drums and sometimes a rhythm part is super shortcut to getting it down right. Being able to up the BPM as you go and all just adds to the accelerated learning curve that BIAB can provide.
**I'll never forget how much better I learned to time things after seriously using BIAB for less than one year. All of a sudden live musicians I was playing with were obviously rushing, slowing down at more difficult passages, the whole nine yards. But I was not, because I'd been practicing at home with BIAB.** <-- And that was a long time ago, back when BIAB did a lot less than it does today and soundcards with built in cheezy FM MIDI synths ruled the roost!
