UB Composer converts human singing or humming (TA-TA-TA) or a recorded melody into timbres of any MIDI instruments.
BestPractice a musician's practice tool, to slow down or speed up music, either from an MP3 file or directly from a CD

LoopBe1 is an internal MIDI device for transferring MIDI data between computer programs. Basically LoopBe1 is an "invisible cable" to connect a MIDI outport of an application to any other application´s MIDI inport.
All MIDI data sent to the program´s output is channeled to the receiving applications in realtime.
You may connect up to 8 applications to LoopBe's inport and up to 8 applications to the outport, all sending and receiving at the same time.

KTDrumTrigger  is a VST plugin with custom editor that triggers MIDI notes based on the sound level of the incoming audio stream in different frequency bands. It allows you to "detect" occurrences of percussive sounds in an audio stream and send out a MIDI event whenever that happens.

Sampling is supposed to be fun

Prior to shortcircuit  it wasn't as fun as it could be.

powertracks real drums hint

from
http://www.pgmusic.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=141580&an=0&page=0#Post141580

Lets say you have a few audio tracks and you decide on what 'real drums" style you want to use.
Before you load up real drums, go to the chord chart as the song plays. Even though there aren't any chords there (you don't need them cause there isn't any midi stuff going on here), you can click on the bar numbers to make a bar read 1a or 1b or 2a or 2b ... you know, like in BIAB.
I would change the bars from "a" to "b" when there was some change or break in the song. Then when loading in the "real drum" track, you hear some really nice drum changes.
NOW the icing on the cake! I then "redo" my changes on the chord diagram again this time alternating between the "a" and "b" bar parts every 4 bars, then every 2 bars, then every bar. I would do this for a while and let it generate another drum track (on a different track) which includes LOADS of drum changes , ... i use the same style for both but of course you don't have to.
Between these two tracks of drum beats, i have many straight rhythms and drum changes to keep the song very vibrant. Naturally some songs don't need all these changes, but this method is great if you do. I then select the parts i want via cut and paste and create a brand new track which consists of the choice parts I decided to use.
I am sure some of you may know this already ... but for those who didn't .. this is a great way to get some really nice changes quickly without having to think them up! For me this way is easier because i am not a drum programmer. Its hard! i just let the "real drums" experts do their thing and i pick out what i want.Kristen

put chords symbols in MIDI files, so that arranger keyboards can recognize them?

from thethe mighty mac @ pg forums

http://www.pgmusic.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=154865&an=0&page=0&gonew=1#UNREAD

This may work, but I can't guarantee it because there are so many different arranger keyboards and such out there, sometimes things vary from model to model of the same brand, but give it a try
(BIAB does not output Midi Chords in the same format as these keyboards use to my knowledge, which may be wrong, dunno):

*Inside BIAB, hit Prefs->Output Ch, button and set the thing to Output Chords with the checkbox. (You may have to experiment with which channel to put them on, too. Unfortunately there are 15 channel possiblities if you exclude the drum track. )

*Then, use File->Make a Standard Midi File (F6) and in the window that opens, check "Include forced Meta Event". also UNcheck export of RealDrums but make sure export of Midi Drums is checked.

*Back in the first Midi Export window, use the dropdown box to change the default from Type 1 to Type 0. You may or may not have to do this step, depending on your keyboard, try it both ways. It may work both ways or only one.

*Proceed to save it as a Midi file onto your drive somewhere. Good idea to not use a long filename here, in case the keyboard can't use long filenames. Seven to Nine characters total in the filename prefix, depending upon the keyboard and what it is designed to use. Always safer to use short filenames when testing things. See if the file you created does the job. Or not.

NOTE: keyboards break chords up so mac's caution about chanels is importand also some keyboards use chanels for extra precussion

biab song layout

PG Music Forums Chorus verses bridge

from mac

* Pays to lay your song idea out as AAB or whatever format first.

*Take a good look at that layout for repetitions of the AB patterns, they are sometimes not starting with the first one but usually will repeat.

*Find those repeating sections, for those are your choruses.
*You can place an A or a B or an A and a B or a B and an A by itself to play through before those choruses start.

*Tags are, well, tags. They can be as long as you need them to be, sometimes even copying part or all of an A or B section to them, too.

*Most folks are looking to make BIAB do what they would like it to do rather than what it is supposed to do. This is only a matter in how you perceive the sections of a song.

Yep, any second year music comp major can tell you that BIAB is already set up to lay songs out correctly and that you can do most any song structure with it as it ships right now.

Even a C section, by changing styles. But I'd like to see some styles support for three subparts someday. --Mac --------------------

PGmusic FAQs, Tutorials and Updates! click here

an AABAB song with a tag on the last B.

Two blocks of the A followed by one block of the B.

Set the chorus in BIAB to repeat at the first bar of the second A such that only the last of the three, the AB is the repeated chorus.

Repeat it once.

Place tag at end of chorus B. First A section will look like a long Intro, then the "chorus" starts, repeats twice and then goes to Tag ending. --Mac

ABBA is done very easily in BIAB by

laying out the A part, then

lay out one B part, then

lay out the A part afterwards again, usually by the cut 'n paste method. Then

invoke the BIAB Chorus to begin at the first bar of that single B part, giving it two repeats.

This, of course, will only yield a "one time through" for the song.

If you want to go through the song more than once in a single performance, then lay it out as the "One Long Song" and use the BIAB chorus repeats to repeat the entire thing as many times as needed. --Mac
